Ali is an amazing physical therapist. He is extremely knowledgable, attentive, and was very instrumental in my healing process. Gary and Andrew were also amazing whenever Ali was away. The office location is very convenient, it is right off highway. It's also spacious and clean. I would highly recommend this place.

They beat me up really good! In all seriousness, Garrett and Andrew are the best. My go-to for my semi-annual back tune up before and after our long NE winters. One of my essential work-arounds for my SAD. Thanks guys as always.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Garrett Goslin and Blue Hills Physical Therapy. I highly recommend them to anyone who is seeking professionalism, attention to detail, compassion, kindness, respect, and their knowledge and experience. The individualized care they provide is not something you will always receive at all physical therapy practices, as has been my experience in the past. Garrett created a treatment plan and home exercise program that was individually tailored to my long and complex case. He was attentive, at all times, during my appointments, and he clearly and effectively maintained open communication with me throughout my time in treatment. I never felt on my own during any of my appointments, as each and every exercise was continuously monitored. Garrett also takes time at every appointment to listen, assess progress, and adjust the treatment plan as needed. Their facility is very clean and well maintained, and I appreciate that treatment is less about rehabilitation using machines and equipment. Additionally, my appointments were always easy to schedule and communication with the office staff, over the phone and/or email, was always easy and pleasant. If you are in need of an exceptional physical therapist and physical therapy practice, consider seeking treatment with Dr. Garrett Goslin at Blue Hills Physical Therapy!

Frankly, the entire team there (Shout out to Garrett as well) demonstrate genuine care towards their patients/clients. They focus on consistent strengthening and endurance which leads to a solid recovery. I'm almost at the end of this journey but will miss my recovery champion. Thank you! ☺️🫶

I had a fantastic experience with Ali Biparva at Blue Hills Physical Therapy after my ankle surgery. Ali's attention to detail and personalized care made a huge difference in my recovery. Unlike my previous experience at another clinic, where one physical therapist was juggling 3-4 patients at a time, Blue Hills offers a much more focused and attentive approach. Ali truly takes the time to understand your needs and guide you through every step of the process. I highly recommend Ali Biparva and Blue Hills Physical Therapy to anyone looking for professional and individualized care!

I have been in PT for many years for many different maladies. Ali was recommended by a good friend. I so appreciated his knowledge of how my body would react to the program he proposed for me.. I’m leaving here with strength I haven’t had in years after multiple attempts at PT addressing the same issue. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, positive, and effective.🙏🏻

I went to Blue Hills Physical Therapy for back pain and sciatica, and Garrett was fantastic. He was professional, friendly, and really helped me feel better. He took the time to explain everything clearly and set me up with a variety of exercises to do at home to continue my progress. I’m so grateful for the care and support I received—highly recommend!

First time using this facility, mainly because it was in our hometown. Thought we would give it a try. The facility has state of the aDr equipment and is clean. They are very professional and easy to work with! The work that Garrett has done with my son has been nothing short of amazing! His progress has been great and is showing tremendous recovery! Garrett focused on my son's recovery, his overall health and his goals are very evident! He pushes him appropriately and encourages him to do the exercise exercises on his own as well! I would highly recommend for all age groups, but especially if you have young adult athletes!

Wanted to come here and share my recent experience at Blue Hills PT Braintree. I usually tend to find myself only taking the time to leave negative reviews but felt it was important to let the public know that Blue Hills PT was truly awesome. Their level of experience and knowlenge is top notch. Went there for 8 weeks for partially torn rotator cuff and am now totally healed. I’m back to doing the things I love pain free. Huge shout out to Andrew who worked with me throughout my sessions and recommended I try dry needling which they offered during my visits. This helped tremendously and so glad I was able to get that done. Will definitely return with any injuries that may come up in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What should I expect during my first physical therapy visit?
During your first visit, your physical therapist will conduct a thorough evaluation to understand your medical history, current condition, and goals. They will assess your movement, strength, flexibility, and any specific areas of discomfort. Based on this evaluation, a personalized treatment plan will be created. The session may also include some initial exercises or hands-on treatment.
How long does a physical therapy session last?
Typically, physical therapy sessions last between 45 to 60 minutes. The exact duration will depend on your condition and the type of treatment you're receiving.
Do I need a referral from my doctor to start physical therapy?
In most cases, you do not need a referral to begin physical therapy. However, many insurance plans may require a doctor's referral or authorization for physical therapy services. It's best to check with your insurance provider. You can also give our office a call for guidance.
What should I wear to my physical therapy appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. If you are receiving treatment for a specific area, such as your knee or shoulder, bring clothing that allows easy access to that area.
How many physical therapy sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, goals, and progress. Your physical therapist will provide an estimate based on your evaluation. Many patients see improvement within 8-12 sessions, but some may require longer treatment.
Is physical therapy painful?
Some discomfort may occur, especially when you are working to improve mobility or strength in a painful area. However, physical therapy should not cause severe pain and we are not a “no pain no gain” type facility. Your therapist will adjust the treatment to ensure it is within your comfort level, and they will work with you to manage any discomfort during therapy.
Will my insurance cover physical therapy?
Most insurance plans cover physical therapy, but coverage varies depending on your provider. Our office will verify your benefits before starting treatment, and we will help you understand any out-of-pocket costs or co-pays. Feel free to contact us with questions about your specific insurance.
Can I continue with physical therapy if I miss a session?
It's important to attend all your scheduled appointments to achieve the best results. However, if you miss a session, contact our office as soon as possible to reschedule. Your therapist may also provide you with exercises to do at home to stay on track.
What happens if my condition gets worse during physical therapy?
If you experience increased pain or discomfort, inform your therapist immediately. They will assess your condition and may adjust your treatment plan to better address your needs. Our goal is to help you recover safely and effectively, so your therapist will work with you to make necessary changes.
Will I need to do exercises at home?
Yes, in most cases, your therapist will give you home exercises to complement your in-clinic sessions. Doing these exercises is essential for improving strength, flexibility, and overall recovery. Your therapist will demonstrate the exercises and ensure you understand how to perform them safely.
Can physical therapy help with chronic pain or conditions like arthritis?
Yes, physical therapy is an effective treatment for many chronic conditions, including arthritis and other musculoskeletal issues. Your therapist will design a plan tailored to reduce pain, improve function, and prevent further joint damage through specialized exercises and techniques.
Do I need to bring anything to my first appointment?
Please bring your insurance card, a valid ID, and any relevant medical records or referrals (if applicable). It’s also helpful to bring a list of any medications you are currently taking and any prior imaging or test results (like X-rays or MRIs) that may be relevant to your condition.
Can physical therapy help me avoid surgery?
Physical therapy can be a conservative treatment option to manage pain and improve function, potentially avoiding surgery for many conditions. In some cases or conditions, surgery may still be necessary, but physical therapy can help prepare you for surgery or assist in recovery afterward.
What types of treatments will I receive during physical therapy?
Treatment methods can include manual therapy (hands-on techniques), therapeutic exercises, stretching, joint mobilizations, and posture education. Your therapist will choose the techniques best suited for your individual needs based on findings from your initial evaluation.
How do I know if physical therapy is working?
As you progress through therapy, your therapist will track your improvements through regular assessments. You should notice reduced pain, increased mobility, and improved function over time. If you're unsure about your progress, always feel free to discuss it with your therapist.
What should I do if I have questions or concerns between appointments?
If you have any questions or concerns between sessions, don’t hesitate to reach out to our clinic. Our team is here to help, and we encourage open communication to ensure you're comfortable with your treatment plan.
